Designated as Britain's first
area of outstanding natural beauty. This compact
peninsula (measuring some 13 by 5 miles) is an ideal
base for sight seeing, walking, bird watching or
beach holiday. Visitors who are looking for spectacular
coastal scenery will find that the Gower coastline
has much to offer.
From the gentle bathing beaches of Oxwich, Horton
and Port Eynon to the towering cliffs of Rhossili and
Three Cliffs Bay, this is certainly an area of contrasts.
Take time to travel inland to Cefn Bryn, the highest
point on Gower, where on a clear day, you can see as
far as Pembrokeshire to the west and Swansea Bay to
the east.
